Full Moon Kingdom unveils the secret, spellbinding nocturnal life of Auckland Zoo. It transports audiences into a world of quiet, infinite beauty that unfolds each night, largely unseen, within our city. Blending full-moon photography with poetry, evocative lighting, and an immersive nocturnal soundscape, the work offers a richly layered sensory experience.
Full Moon Kingdom was a collaboration between photographer Kathrin Simon, poet Glenn Colquhoun, lighting designer Jane Hakaraia, and sound engineer Emily Hakaraia. It was one of the leading visual art events of the 2016 Auckland Arts Festival.
Three works from the exhibition are now held in the Wallace Arts Trust Collection.
