Glenn Colquhoun and Richard Nunns visit Northland

Glenn Richard sml Glenn Colquhoun and Richard Nunns visit NorthlandLast week in May 13, I traveled with Richard Nunns expert in ng taonga puoro and poet Glenn Colquhoun to the Far North. They took their art to schools and libraries and visited little schools in very remote areas. The welcome, interest and warmth we experienced was wonderful. It was a trip organized by the NZ Book Council and my photos document part of their journey ‘The Two Doctors Tour’.

NZ Book Council: Glenn Colquhoun and Richard Nunns toured Northland, and this is what a student from Kaitaia College thought.’I have never heard poetry like that before. In classes, on paper, in films, poetry was one dimensional for me until now. To see it filled with life and power and passion was so incredible for me as an audience member and an aspiring writer.’

That’s beautiful.

Freya’s 2nd birthday..

Gorgeous Freya just celebrated her 2nd birthday. Only last minute, I grabbed my camera thinking it would be cool to snap some photos of the party…well, I found myself not being able to stop!! Too many sweet kids, too many balloons and colours, treats and cheerful chitter – chatter. Photographers heaven. So glad I brought my camera along and still managed to eat some of the delicious cupcakes my dear friend Janette made for us all and her little princess…and mum is stoked about having a little photo essay about her daughter’s birthday icon smile Freyas 2nd birthday..
