I am starting a blog! Oh dear..am I?!

Gosh, now I am starting a blog! How about that!? The reason I am doing it is that I have so many photographs I’d like to share but don’t really know when and how. A few trips and projects were ticking away over the last couple of years and I am not sure if those photographs will ever see the light of the day. So, why not sharing them with you on a blog…that way I feel they at least become a chance to be experienced by more than only me. Not sure if the photographs do but the experiences certainly deserve to be shared…! And I’d like to start with impressions captured during a most recent trip of mine…a very moving, engaging and adventurous trip to the Australian outback. It was my third time to the Australian desert – the outback has been calling me back ever since I was there first in 1994! And last year, I was lucky to be able to go again with my dear friend Stephanie. Four weeks off the beaten tracks in a 4WD! It was beyond beautiful and filled me with gratitude, freedom and awe for the power of the place. I feel there is no stretch of land more ancient than this…it is so blunt, raw, spiritual….and red! Within a short time frame I felt utterly connected to the land. I could move with great freedom and felt at one with the landscape – I missed this connection the moment, I had to leave the serenity and peace of the place. I could talk about it for hours but I won’t…I am not a writer and find it hard to put my thoughts and feelings into words at times. Too often words (well, my words) can just not describe what I see and feel in that very moment – whereas, I feel happy to capture them in a photograph. So, I let my photos speak and decided to post one image a day (maybe two?) and let you become part of the experience and land.

What’s left to say…..I loved it, loved it, loved it and know – I will visit you again precious land!

Enjoy….and thanks for calling in from time to time.

Lets gooooooo!!  xxx
